The Dakota ZX5 ultrasonic thickness gauge expands on the popular ZX3 model with additional measurement modes, USB line power and connectivity, and an optional Bluetooth module.

The ZX5 provides flexibility and saves valuable time in the field when testing different materials. Calibration can be manually set to a known material velocity or thickness, or to one of eight common material types stored on the gauge (aluminium, cast iron, plexiglass, polystyrene, polyurethane, PVC, stainless steel and steel).

A high speed scanning mode displays the minimum thickness measured over larger test areas. A differential mode displays any +/- variance from a fixed base value. An alarm mode provides audible and / or visual alerts when readings fall outside defined high or low tolerance levels.

The ZX5 can also operate as a velocity / density / hardness gauge, with readings displayed in m/sec or in/µs rather than mm or inches.

Adjustable gain / amplification increases accuracy when testing noisy, granular or difficult to penetrate materials. The probe diameter can also be adjusted to increase linearity and reading accuracy.

For long-term or continuous use, the ZX5 can be powered by a standard USB-C to USB-A cable / power adapter. Live data transfer is also available via USB or an optional Bluetooth module upgrade (see accessories).

Fast, accurate measurements to 0.01mm give you reliable test results. A rugged, water resistant, sealed aluminium casing means the ZX5 is built to withstand everyday use in heavy duty, industrial workplaces.

The ZX5 is ready to operate straight out of the box and is backed by Dakota's legendary 5 years limited warranty.
